SnapMyTrade Product Documentation

All SnapMyTrade image files are stored inside the NinjaTrader 8 installation directory. Access the “SnapMyTrade” folder located here: \TickTec\SnapMyTrade\, containing all the snapped image files. The image path is configured depending on which indicator options are chosen, see “indicator properties” below.

Chart Setup

SnapMyTrade screenshots are taken on the current active tab of a chart window. It is important that the tab where a screenshot is intended to be snapped, be kept active at all times. If this interferes with your regular trading activity, consider using a separate workspace or chart for taking the SnapMyTrade screenshots only.

File Overwrite

SnapMyTrade overwrites existing files with the same name. Consider always using date and time with milliseconds to avoid this from happening.

Indicator Properties

Interval Snaps

When “Interval Snaps” is turned on, the indicator will automatically snap a screenshot at a set bar interval.

Property	Options	Description
Interval snap on	Checked or unchecked	Turns Interval Snap on or off.
Bars interval	Number	Sets the interval frequency.
Folder component 1	SnapType, Instrument, Date	Sets the folder name used after \TickTec\SnapMyTrade
Folder component 2	SnapType, Instrument, Date, Exclude	Sets the folder name used after Folder component 1. If “Exclude” is used it will be omitted from the folder path.
Folder component 3	SnapType, Instrument, Date, Exclude	Sets the folder name used. after Folder component 2. If “Exclude” is used it will be omitted from the folder path.
Folder date format	Various date formats.	Configures the date format used in the folder name if date is used by one of the “Folder component” properties.
Snap scope	Window, Chart	Snap the entire chart window, or the chart only.
File date format	Various date formats.	Configures the date format used in the file name if date is used by one of the “File component” properties.
File time format	Various time formats	Configures the date format used in the file name if tim is used by one of the “File component” properties.
File prefix	Free form text	Appended to the front of the file name.
File component 1	Instrument, BarType, Date, Time.	Sets the first component of the file name used.
File component 2	Instrument, BarType, Date, Time, Exclude	Sets the second component used for file name. If “Exclude” is used it will be omitted from the folder path.
File component 3	Instrument, BarType, Date, Time, Exclude	Sets the third component used for file name. If “Exclude” is used it will be omitted from the folder path.
File component 4	Instrument, BarType, Date, Time, Exclude	Sets the third component used for file name. If “Exclude” is used it will be omitted from the folder path.

Trade Snaps

When “Trade Snaps” is turned on, the indicator will automatically snap a screenshot when you open or close a position. In addition the indicator can be configured to do the same for any position updates.
